actually due to ads they can earn money from the mobile version but unity doesnt support ads on PC so they have to earn money from it somehow

Because of how there are no advertisements, it can't be free. Among us on mobile is able to be free because of how they can use ads, but Unity doesn't support ads on computers, so it can't be done. Therefore, they made it so you need to pay money, because they lost out on you giving them money with ads.
